Fun in VA hospital land

So the past couple days have been wacky, just plain wacky.

It seems that the high wacky wacks from national headquarters did a walk thru here and found that the requirements “suggested” three years ago hadn’t happened and decreed that every change would happen NOW.

So, apparently, at the same time the fire alarm went off all the doors were locked except for the main door in front.

Of course no one told us.

This morning I took Keegan out for her morning pee as usual and I couldn’t get back in. While I was standing there trying to figure out why I couldn’t get back into my wing a policeman rolled up and threatened to write me up and get me discharged from the program for exiting an alarmed building.

It was chaos all day.

There was a meeting in the afternoon from the high wacky wacks trying to lay down the rules.
Oh yeah, that went well; bunch of vets, more than half of them in substance recovery listening to civilians telling them what to do.

Now all these crazy men are locked up in one small space, milling around, cat-calling, lining the walls we women have to walk thru to be able to take the dogs out.
Just in case anyone’s wondering, this isn’t a good situation.

Another woman was written up because she had walked around, outside thru the front door, the nurse saw her and accused her of going thru the locked door (obviously not true because the alarm wasn’t tripped), when the woman said she hadn’t gone out the door, the nurse wrote her up for disrespect.

Police are zipping around with their lights raring, running around looking concerned.

Meanwhile, the women are walking around in groups, trying to avoid the swarms of crazy men congregating in the hallways because there’s no place else for them to congregate.

Egads! I guess they don’t want anybody to escape.
