A couple weeks ago I finally bought myself a new straw hat. My last one had turned into more holes than hat, though it had lasted far longer than it was intended too I think.

Anyway, like many rednecks, I was putting my trinkets/totems/memory charms on the hat band when I realised that all of them are related to water.

I always knew that I loved the water, lakes, rivers, oceans, but I hadn’t realised how much my physical representation expressed it.

Everything was either found on a beach or is a water charm from various cultures. One is a tiny felted sea turtle and I made that myself years ago, originally to be worn as a necklace.

It’s almost always interesting to learn these kinds of things about yourself.
