Do you ever get cold from the inside out?
The temperature can be the same as it’s been for hours but all of a sudden you feel like it’s 20 degrees cooler?
That happened to me last night. And I could NOT get warm. I tried all my known tricks, sit-ups, mental concentration, the flutter kick, and everything else I could think of.
Finally, I snagged Keegan and pulled her into the hammock with me. She settled down for a few hours and I warmed up beautifully.
Then Ms. Fuzzy Fourfoot started getting restless and bopping me in the head with her nose. And if you’ve never experienced a dog flopping it’s head down on you, take it from me, they just flop. No holding back. It’s a good solid thunk! So I evicted her from the hammock (which was what she wanted).
I’m still warm and cozy, well except for my arms which are outside of my sleeping bag typing, and that will be remedied soon. 🙂

/ December 24, 2011Thank goodness for warm pups!
I usually use hot tea, but that’s more difficult for you. Plus, snuggling is more effective anyway.

/ December 24, 2011I used to go jump in the shower to get warmed up but that’s even more difficult than the tea right now.
And you’re right, snuggling is much more effective. Until she starts wanting to play, in the hammock, at 4am, and sticking her cold nose in my ear, I swear that she still thinks it’s as funny now as she did when she was a puppy. 😀
I love my dog!
