Other signs of reduced spending.

This evening I stopped by the local Costco to get a $1.25 polish dog and soda. These are really long hot dogs and quite filling.

While I was sitting there eating I watched the people leave the checkout line with their carts.

I was surprised to see 3/4 of the carts with only a few items. And most of the items were standard items like toilet paper, cereal, bread, etc.
I’m used to seeing heaping carts, especially at this time of year.

It’s possible today was just a slow day but it’s the slowest day I’ve ever seen in a Costco.

Do you have a membership? Or do you not need one if you’re just going to the cafe?

  2. I do, yes.

I can’t really afford to buy anything there now but some things like the big box of wet wipes a still a good buy for me.
